Tetouan – The Tetouan region is witnessing escalating protests against the “Issal Al Madina” company, following its decision to transfer a number of its drivers to distant cities such as Agadir and Marrakech. The labor union has deemed this move a “forced and arbitrary displacement.”
The regional office of the National Union of Labor in Morocco (UNTM) in Tetouan has announced a protest to condemn this measure, which the union argues lacks any legal or humanitarian basis and reveals a disregard for workers’ rights and their social and family circumstances.
The union also highlighted the suffering of the company’s employees from difficult working conditions, including meager and delayed salaries, temporary employment contracts, and the absence of a health insurance system. It further pointed out that local authorities have refused to accept the file for the establishment of a union office for the workers, a matter that has angered union officials.
