The hospitality sector in the city of Fez and its surroundings is experiencing a noticeable boom in tandem with the launch of the 16th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM 2025), held in Meknes. Hotel bookings have reached record highs, with many classified and non-classified tourist establishments nearly fully booked.
According to Fes News, a large number of professional delegations and international visitors attending the exhibition have opted to stay in Fez and its outskirts, especially given that many hotel establishments in Meknes are already fully occupied. This has had a positive impact on tourism facilities in Sais, Ain Chkef, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, and other nearby areas.
Hotel owners in Fez confirmed to the newspaper that occupancy rates have peaked since last weekend, surpassing 90% in some establishments. Advance bookings for the remainder of the exhibition period have reached their maximum, particularly in business hotels and those located along the main travel routes between Fez and Meknes.
This unprecedented influx is seen as a glimmer of hope for professionals in the sector after months of relative stagnation. It also underscores the importance of major events like SIAM in revitalizing the local economy—not only in Meknes but across the broader Fez-Meknes region.
