Morocco Achieves Record with 4 Million Tourists in First Quarter of 2025

Rabat – The Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy has confirmed the strong upward trend of the tourism sector in Morocco, with the Kingdom welcoming 4 million tourists in the first three months of 2025 (up to the end of March). This figure represents a remarkable increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2024.

In a press release, the Ministry explained that this exceptional performance reinforces Morocco’s position as a leading tourist destination, bolstering the “four-season destination” dynamic that the Kingdom initiated at the beginning of the year.

Regarding the distribution of tourists, Morocco attracted significant numbers of both international tourists (2.1 million) and Moroccans residing abroad (1.9 million), reflecting the diversity that characterizes the Moroccan tourism offering, according to the same source.

The press release quoted the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, as saying: “The month of March, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan this year, recorded excellent performance with nearly 1.4 million visitors, representing a growth of 17% compared to 2024.”

The Minister emphasized that “these figures attest to the profound transformation of the Moroccan tourism offer, which has managed to reinvent itself to meet the needs of increasingly demanding travelers.”

This record number of tourists during the first quarter of the year is a strong indicator of Morocco’s tourist appeal and its ability to attract visitors from around the world and in different seasons, promising a successful tourism season for the Kingdom.
