Rabat: The General Directorate for Information Systems Security (DGSSI) has issued a security bulletin warning Moroccan citizens about a critical vulnerability discovered in the Windows version of the WhatsApp application.
According to data from the bulletin issued by the Computer Attack Detection and Response Center (Centre de veille de détection et de réaction aux attaques informatiques) of the DGSSI, this flaw presents a significant level of danger and affects all versions of the WhatsApp application prior to version 2.2450.6.
The same source specifies that Meta has announced that it has corrected this vulnerability affecting its WhatsApp application on Windows, noting that it allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Therefore, the DGSSI urges all Moroccan users to immediately update their WhatsApp application, referring to the security bulletin published by Meta to install the necessary patches.
This warning is part of an ongoing national effort to monitor digital vulnerabilities and protect users against the increase in cyberattacks, which have recently led to the hacking of important government websites and the massive leakage of sensitive data.
Recently, the DGSSI also issued a warning about a critical vulnerability affecting websites using the “SureTriggers” plugin for the WordPress platform.
According to the directorate, this flaw poses a high risk as it can be exploited by attackers to bypass existing security measures. It concerns versions of the plugin prior to version 1.0.79 and has been documented under the vulnerability identifier CVE-2025-3102.
Furthermore, the DGSSI confirms that WordPress has quickly corrected this vulnerability and urges all users to immediately update the SureTriggers plugin via the official WordPress update page.
