CNSS: Documents Leaked After Cyberattack Often False, Inaccurate, or Truncated

Rabat – The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) affirmed on Wednesday that initial verifications carried out by its services regarding certain leaked documents, attributed to a cyberattack and shared on social media platforms, have revealed that these documents are often false, inaccurate, or truncated.

In a press release, the Fund stated that its information system was subjected to a series of cyberattacks aimed at circumventing security measures, noting that these attacks caused a data leak, the origins and scope of which are currently being assessed.

The same source added that upon observing the data leak, the information security protocol was activated with corrective measures that made it possible to contain the path used and strengthen the infrastructure. Means have also been implemented to precisely identify the data concerned.

Recalling that the protection of personal data and the confidentiality of its users’ information constitute an absolute priority, the CNSS announced the opening of an internal administrative investigation into the incident, while the competent judicial authorities have been notified by the Fund.

To this end, the National Social Security Fund called on “all citizens and media to exercise caution, a sense of responsibility, and to avoid any act of disseminating or sharing leaked or falsified data, under penalty of legal consequences.”
