In the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, security forces under the regional police department in Salé successfully arrested two individuals aged between 26 and 30, one of whom has a prior criminal record, on suspicion of possessing and trafficking narcotics and psychotropic pills.
This high-level operation was based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), leading to the arrest of the suspects in the “Al-Inbiaath” neighborhood — one of the city’s most notorious areas for criminal activity. A thorough search of the area led to the seizure of 3,776 psychotropic pills of the “Rivotril” type, in addition to a significant amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
The suspects have been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover all the circumstances and details surrounding the case and to identify potential networks connected to this criminal activity, both within and outside the city.
This successful security operation reinforces the ongoing and determined efforts of national law enforcement, in coordination with territorial surveillance services, to crack down on networks trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances, in order to safeguard public security and protect citizens’ well-being.
