In a significant development, Moroccan security forces have successfully located the exit of a drug tunnel near the border with Ceuta. This discovery came after intensive fieldwork utilizing sensors and cameras, leading to the identification of a hole in front of the “Tarajal” warehouses in Ceuta. Investigators entered the area and took photographs to document the find.
Initial reports indicate that the tunnel’s exit was inside a house within a military zone in Morocco. Authorities were able to identify one of the suspects, who has a history of drug trafficking offenses.
The operation highlights the close security coordination between Morocco and Spain, with both countries working together to uncover the details of the network that operated the tunnel.
Spanish authorities continue their investigations, with the Spanish National Court deciding to extend the confidentiality of the case since March. The “Hades” operation aims to dismantle a drug trafficking network, and so far, 14 individuals have been arrested.
This case is one of the most significant drug smuggling issues in the region in recent years. The tunnel, discovered late last year, is believed to have been used to smuggle drugs across the border into Spain, forming part of a vast network used for illegal smuggling operations over several years.
