Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch has issued a new directive to ministerial departments and public institutions, recommending strict measures to curb spending on government vehicle acquisitions and the construction and furnishing of administrative headquarters. This initiative aims to enhance investment efficiency and rationalize public expenditure.
The directive, which falls within the framework of budget planning for the 2026-2027 fiscal years, calls for minimizing expenses related to the state’s vehicle fleet to the bare minimum while promoting shared use among different public administrations. It also emphasizes the need to optimize the use of digital infrastructure and archiving systems to modernize administration and improve management practices.
Additionally, the Prime Minister urged a rationalization of equipment and service expenses by limiting regular expenditures to essential needs, particularly those related to water, electricity, vehicle rentals, and administrative office leases. The directive also highlights the importance of reducing transportation and travel costs.
Akhannouch’s directive underscores the necessity of adhering to the goals outlined in the “Charter for Exemplary Administration” to enhance public service performance and ensure greater efficiency in government spending.
