The General Directorate of Meteorology has forecast significant weather disturbances across various regions of Morocco, including heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, snowfall at altitudes above 1,800 meters, and strong winds, starting today, Thursday, until Saturday.
Heavy Rainfall
An “Orange” alert level has been issued, predicting rainfall amounts between:
- 50-70 mm in Larache, Ouezzane, Tangier-Asilah, Tetouan, Chefchaouen, and Al Hoceima.
- 40-50 mm in M’diq-Fnideq, Fahs-Anjra, Taounate, Taza, Sidi Kacem, and Kenitra.
- 25-40 mm in Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Casablanca, Rabat, El Jadida, Safi, and Essaouira (from Thursday evening to Friday noon).
Snowfall Forecast
- Up to 50 cm of snow is expected at altitudes above 1,800 meters in Azilal, Ifrane, and Al Hoceima, from Thursday evening to Saturday morning.
- Up to 30 cm of snow will accumulate in regions above 2,000 meters, including Taroudant, Midelt, Tinghir, Sefrou, Chichaoua, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Taza, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Guercif, and Boulemane (until early Saturday).
Strong Winds
- Wind gusts (70-85 km/h) are expected in Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Asilah, Tetouan, M’diq-Fnideq, Rabat, Casablanca, Kenitra, and Salé from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning.
- Additional affected areas include Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Jerada, Nador, Oujda, Taourirt, Midelt, Sefrou, and Figuig, where strong winds will persist until Friday evening.

Citizens are urged to exercise caution, especially in mountainous regions and flood-prone areas, by following official meteorological updates and taking necessary precautionary measures.
