Regional Health Delegate in El Hajeb Confirms Stability of Measles Cases and Smooth Progress of Vaccination Campaign

Hassan Okouhou, the regional delegate of the Ministry of Health in El Hajeb, confirmed in a media statement that the number of measles cases in the province remains stable and does not raise concerns.

In the same statement, Okouhou clarified that no fatalities have been recorded due to measles in the region. He pointed out that all detected cases are receiving treatment either at home or in hospitals, depending on their medical needs.

Regarding the vaccination campaign, the regional delegate noted that the process is progressing normally. The campaign aims to ensure the immunization of children under 18 who have not completed their vaccination doses, as part of the national initiative to strengthen health coverage against measles. This effort is being carried out in accordance with established legal and health procedures.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease transmitted through respiratory droplets, primarily affecting unvaccinated children. This highlights the need to intensify vaccination efforts to protect vulnerable groups and curb the spread of the disease.

The Ministry of Health recommends vaccination as an effective preventive measure against measles and urges the reinforcement of awareness campaigns to ensure that as many children as possible receive the necessary immunization.
