Coming soon: Launching a unified digital portal for public services Morocco’s new digital portal for public services

As part of the Moroccan government’s efforts to improve access to public services online, a unified portal for digital public services will be launched on February 14, 2025, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Falah El Sgrochny announced this week, as part of the Moroccan government’s efforts to improve access to public services online.

In a presentation to the Public Finance and Governance Monitoring Committee of the House of Representatives, El Sagrouchni explained that the aim of this portal is to group and categorize digital public services to facilitate citizens’ access to them, enabling them to access them according to their life events, ensuring easy access at any time and from anywhere.

Sgrochni emphasized that this initiative will contribute significantly to improving Morocco’s ranking in the United Nations e-government index, where the ranking is expected to rise from 113th to 50th globally, reflecting the progress made in the field of digital transformation in Morocco.

The minister added that the new portal will bring together all official public websites, boosting confidence among users and giving each administration additional visibility on the continuity and quality of e-services. It will also provide a platform to showcase users’ comments and suggestions on improving these services.

El Saghrochny highlighted the benefits that will accrue to citizens by reducing the time it takes to obtain services and minimizing trips to administrations. She emphasized that citizens will no longer have to travel multiple times for a single service, which will save time and effort.

In the context of national achievements in the field of digital governance, the minister noted that more than 600 public services are available online, including 300 services for citizens, as well as services for businesses and public administrations.

The ministry launched a second measurement campaign to assess the maturity of data registries for public services, with the aim of enhancing data sharing and accelerating data workshops. She explained that 24 registries involving 13 public administrations were assessed, and the campaign resulted in a 20 percent improvement in registry maturity levels compared to the 2022 index.

These steps, according to El Saghrochny, are part of the Moroccan government’s strategy to promote e-government and achieve digital transition, reflecting the government’s commitment to facilitate the lives of citizens and facilitate access to public services online.
