As part of ongoing security efforts to combat drug trafficking and the abuse of psychoactive substances, police officers from the regional police station in Mashra’a Belksiri managed to arrest a 48-year-old man on Friday, January 31. He is suspected of being involved in cases related to the possession and distribution of narcotics.
This operation was carried out based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance. The suspect was arrested as soon as he arrived in the city aboard a passenger bus traveling from a northern city in Morocco. A search of the suspect’s belongings led to the discovery of 922 narcotic tablets, including 522 ecstasy tablets and 400 tablets of Rivotril.
The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, with the aim of uncovering the extent of this criminal activity and identifying other potential accomplices involved in the case.
