A massive fire broke out last night, January 30, 2025, at the Benzaqour Wood Factory in the Atlas area of Fes, behind Meshouat Debbagh, causing extensive material damage but no reported casualties, according to local sources.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started suddenly and quickly spread throughout the factory due to the highly flammable materials inside. Flames and thick smoke were visible from several areas of the city.
Upon receiving the alert, civil protection teams rushed to the scene and made significant efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and shops. The firefighting operation lasted for hours due to the intensity of the flames before emergency teams successfully extinguished the fire and secured the site.
Sources confirmed that the fire destroyed large parts of the factory, resulting in severe material losses but no human casualties. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire.
