In the Presence of the Governor of Fes-Meknes and the Delegate Minister: A Promising Digital Project Launched in Fes to Reshape the Future of Youth

Fes News has received official information confirming that on Friday, February 28, 2025, the agreement for launching the YouCode School project in Fes was signed in the presence of high-profile officials, including the Delegate Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, the Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, the President of the Regional Council, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services. The project is co-financed by the Delegate Ministry and the Regional Council, with a budget of 53 million dirhams, as part of efforts to support training in technology and digitalization, enabling young people to access the digital job market.

According to the same source, YouCode Fes will offer a two-year educational program, targeting 80 students per cohort, aged between 18 and 35 years old. In her statement, Amal Falah Sgrouchni, the Delegate Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the national strategy aimed at equipping Moroccan youth with modern digital skills, keeping pace with global technological advancements and enhancing their employability.

Despite the significance of the project, Moâd El Jamaï, the Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, pointed out that the number of beneficiaries remains limited compared to the 230,000 students in the region. He called for the future expansion of the school to accommodate more youth interested in digital and programming fields, stressing that this institution offers a second chance for those seeking to integrate into the tech industry.

This initiative is part of the royal directives aimed at improving education and vocational training quality, enhancing territorial governance, and adopting development policies that ensure economic and social integration. YouCode Fes is expected to position the region as a leading hub for digital training, attract technological investments, boost the job market’s dynamism, and open new opportunities for Moroccan youth in innovation and digitalization.
