In Fez, a University Hospital on the Meknes Road with International Standards: “Health Sciences Hub” to Enhance Regional Health and Educational Infrastructure

The Council of the Fez-Meknes Region is preparing to approve a massive project worth 1.1 billion dirhams during its upcoming session on March 3, 2025. The project, titled “Health Sciences Hub,” aims to enhance the region’s health and educational infrastructure through a strategic partnership with the Euromed University of Fez. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support regional development and achieve the Royal Vision for advancing the health and education sectors at the national level.

The project includes the establishment of a university hospital on a 90,000-square-meter site, featuring various medical and surgical specialties, an emergency unit, an oncology center, and a rehabilitation facility. Additionally, it will involve the construction of the Euromed Faculty of Medicine on a 20,000-square-meter area and a Faculty of Dentistry along with a University Dental Center on a 15,000-square-meter site.

The Euromed University of Fez will contribute approximately 956.45 million dirhams to the total project cost, while the Fez-Meknes Regional Council will allocate 150 million dirhams for its implementation. The contracting parties are committed to providing the necessary financial resources and adhering to the agreed-upon timeline to achieve the outlined objectives, in line with the latest international standards for quality and safety.

A source from the Euromed University stated in an exclusive comment to Fez News that the project aims to train highly skilled medical professionals, provide advanced healthcare services to support regional and national health infrastructure, and promote scientific research and innovation in the health sector to achieve national sovereignty in this vital field.

The source added that the project will include modern medical and educational facilities equipped with advanced technology to support medical training and scientific research. The Euromed University, as a non-profit institution, seeks to achieve developmental goals that benefit the local and regional population.

This ambitious project reflects the university’s vision to promote sustainable development and strengthen the health infrastructure in the Fez-Meknes region. The Wali (governor) of the region plays a crucial role in accelerating the project’s progress by facilitating administrative procedures and coordinating the efforts of the various contracting parties to ensure the project’s success at the desired pace.

The project is expected to have a significant positive impact on the region’s health and educational services, further solidifying the Fez-Meknes region’s status as a key medical and scientific hub at the national and international levels.

Fez News will continue to follow this project and provide updates to its readers, in line with its commitment to ensuring citizens’ right to access accurate and timely information.
