In a landmark judicial ruling, the Primary Felony Chamber responsible for financial crimes at the Court of Appeal in Fez issued decisive verdicts on February 25, 2025, in a case involving embezzlement of public funds, bribery, and forgery. The rulings included the conviction of defendants Ilham Bouazza and Ahmed Boutahir, who were each sentenced to three years of enforceable imprisonment and a fine of 40,000 dirhams, while being acquitted of some other charges.
Additionally, Faiza Bouchiri and Abdelwahab El Idrissi were sentenced to 18 months of enforceable imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 dirhams each, after being convicted of embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, bribery, and forgery in administrative certificates. Furthermore, Ahmed El Bouni, Youssef Ait Moujan, and Mohamed Ben Krine were convicted of involvement in embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, and forgery, with each receiving an 18-month enforceable prison sentence and a fine of 20,000 dirhams.
On the civil side, the court ordered the defendants to pay financial compensation to the Regional Academy of Education and Training. Ilham Bouazza and Ahmed Boutahir were jointly ordered to pay 500,000 dirhams, Faiza Bouchiri and Abdelwahab El Idrissi were jointly ordered to pay 150,000 dirhams, and Ahmed El Bouni, Youssef Ait Moujan, and Mohamed Ben Krine were jointly ordered to pay 500,000 dirhams.
