Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has successfully resumed its direct flights between Casablanca and São Paulo, marking the end of a five-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The inaugural flight, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed at São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport on Saturday evening, carrying approximately 300 passengers.
The aircraft received a traditional water salute upon arrival, symbolizing the significance of this renewed air connection between Morocco and Brazil. The ceremony was attended by Brazilian tourism officials and industry representatives.
This strategic route will operate three times a week with the following schedule:
- Departures from Casablanca: Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 4:45 PM, arriving in São Paulo at 10:20 PM local time
- Return flights from São Paulo: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:25 AM, reaching Casablanca at 1:15 PM
The resumption of this direct service addresses the growing demand from business travelers and tourists on both sides of the Atlantic. It also aligns with RAM’s strategy to support Morocco’s major initiatives, including the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
Othmane Baba, RAM’s regional director, highlighted the airline’s code-sharing agreement with Brazil’s largest carrier, GOL Linhas Aereas. This partnership enhances connectivity to other cities in Brazil and Morocco[1]. Passengers will also have access to RAM’s extensive network of 97 destinations worldwide from the Casablanca hub, including connections to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and soon Asia with the planned reinstatement of a direct route to Beijing.
The relaunch of this service not only strengthens the long-standing partnership between Morocco and Brazil but also reinforces Morocco’s position as a global hub for travel and business.
