Unprecedented Franco-Moroccan Meeting to Address Illegal Immigrants Issue

France and Morocco held an unprecedented meeting at the Moroccan Royal Embassy in Paris to discuss mechanisms for facilitating the deportation procedures of Moroccan migrants illegally present in French territory.

The meeting came following the French president’s official visit to Morocco and featured a high-level participation that included the Moroccan Ambassador to France, Samira Stail, seventeen Moroccan consuls present in France, along with senior officials from the interior and foreign ministries of both countries.

The meeting focused primarily on facilitating the issuance of “consular transit documents” necessary for deporting Moroccan migrants subject to orders to leave French territory.

This step comes within the framework of joint coordination between the two countries to address the issue of illegal immigration in an organized and effective manner.
