Two Suspects Arrested in Marrakech for Alleged Kidnapping of Belgian Citizen

The Judicial Police in Marrakech, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of kidnapping and detaining a Belgian citizen. The arrest took place on the evening of Monday, August 12th.

According to a statement issued by security authorities, the suspects are 38 and 34 years old, one of whom is a French citizen of Moroccan origin. Initial investigations indicate that the French citizen allegedly incited his accomplice to kidnap the victim and forcibly detain him in an apartment in Marrakech.

Security efforts led to the successful location and liberation of the victim on the previous Saturday. Upon discovery, the victim showed clear signs of physical violence and bruising.

Informed sources suggest that the motive behind this crime may be linked to suspicious business transactions. It has also been revealed that the main suspect is involved in another ongoing case related to forgery, fraud, and embezzlement.

The victim has been transferred to the hospital to receive necessary medical treatment, while the suspects have been placed under police custody pending further investigation by the competent public prosecutor’s office.
