According to multiple media sources, the regional command of the Royal Gendarmerie in Tetouan has started the necessary legal procedures to identify a body found on a beach in Oran, Algeria. This body is suspected to belong to Ittihad Tanger player Abdel Latif Akhrif, who drowned off the coast of Restinga, near the city of Mdiq, last month.
The same sources indicated that the Royal Gendarmerie has contacted the victim’s parents, residing in Tangier, to collect DNA samples from the mother. These samples will be sent to the central laboratory in Rabat for matching with the body before taking the necessary steps to return it to Morocco for burial.
