Former Popular Movement parliamentarian arrested with two girls after young woman dies in Beni Mellal villa

Local sources reported that security authorities in Beni Mellal have arrested a former parliamentarian from the Popular Movement Party, following the death of a girl in his villa where a private party (birthday) was taking place.

The same sources added that the security forces launched an in-depth investigation into the incident, under the instructions of the competent public prosecution, and two girls who witnessed the incident during the party were summoned, as the results of the medical autopsy are expected to show the real causes of death.

The same sources explained that the period of custody was extended to 72 hours to further investigate the suspects, which include the former parliamentarian and the two girls.

In a related context, multiple sources suggested that the cause of the girl’s death was caused by drug overdoses, based on the finding of narcotic substances, including “cocaine,” in the parliamentarian’s house, in the Beni Mellal Khenifra region, which is famous for the illegal drug trade.
