Tiznit – Elements of the judicial police brigade in Tiznit, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance, managed on Monday evening to arrest a 28-year-old woman and her 34-year-old brother, one of whom has prior criminal records, on suspicion of being involved in a case related to the possession and trafficking of smuggled medicines that could harm citizens’ health.
The suspects were caught red-handed attempting to sell a quantity of smuggled pills to two individuals, claiming they could be used to facilitate abortions. The search and seizure operation resulted in the confiscation of an additional quantity of the same smuggled medicines, totaling 1,145 pills, in addition to a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity.
The arrested individuals were taken into custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover all the circumstances and details of this case, as well as identify any potential extensions of this criminal activity related to drug trafficking.
The arrest operation was carried out in coordination between the judicial police brigade in Tiznit and the services of the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance, as part of security efforts to combat the phenomenon of smuggling and trafficking of unauthorized medicines, which pose a threat to public health.
