Precise intelligence data dismantles a dangerous drug trafficking network and seizes large quantities of cocaine and cannabis that were flooding Agadir

Elements of the Provincial Judicial Police in the city of Agadir, thanks to precise information from the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance, succeeded yesterday, Tuesday, in arresting five individuals ranging in age from 26 to 54 years, including a girl and a person with a criminal record, suspected of involvement in a case involving the possession of 4,270 kilograms of cocaine and 32 kilograms of cannabis.

According to the General Directorate of National Security statement, the arrest operation took place during a security operation in the “Tikouine” area on the outskirts of the city, where two batches of cocaine were seized in addition to a sum of money believed to be from illegal trade revenue.

The security statement adds that the main drug supplier was arrested while in possession of two additional batches of cocaine, after a search was conducted at his residence in the city of Ait Melloul, where the fifth suspect was found and more cocaine as well as cannabis, weighing devices, and mobile phones were seized.

According to the analysis of the national security database, the history of one of the detainees indicates the existence of a national search warrant against him for similar cases.

Four of the detainees were placed in custody pending the completion of investigations under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, while the main supplier was transferred to the hospital due to an injury sustained while attempting to flee, and it is expected that charges will be brought against him and the other suspects after the investigations are completed.
