Meknes – The local office of the National Higher Education Union at the Higher School of Education in Meknes has stepped up its protest actions by announcing a full boycott of various operations related to the start of the university year, in protest against what it considers a lack of a serious and responsible response to the demands of the institution’s teaching staff.
The decision came following an emergency meeting held by the local office on Monday, August 31, 2026, which was devoted to assessing the latest developments in the demands file and the outcome of steps previously taken by the union, including the issuance of a warning statement and the submission of a letter to the president of Moulay Ismaïl University.
According to the statement issued by the local office, these actions did not result, according to the union’s assessment, in a response to the demands previously put forward. The office considered that the handling of the file reflected what it described as “clear targeting of the demands of the teaching staff.”
The boycott announced by the union covers entrance examinations for the Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Master’s and Doctoral programme examinations, as well as department and programme meetings, the preparation of timetables and their implementation, at a time when the institution is preparing to receive the new academic year.
The local office considered that the expansion of the boycott came after a number of steps it had previously taken had been exhausted. It held the administration of the Higher School of Education and the university presidency responsible for any developments that may arise from the situation, while stressing that it had previously demonstrated, in its own words, “good faith, responsibility and flexibility” throughout the various stages of handling the demands file.
At the end of its statement, the local office called on female and male teachers to stand united within the trade union framework and to take part in the forms of protest it had announced, which it said were aimed at defending demands and rights it considers legitimate.
The boycott decision therefore places the upcoming academic year at the Higher School of Education in Meknes before a new development, given its scope and its impact on several operations related to the organisation of the university year. Attention is now focused on the next steps and on whether the institution’s administration and the presidency of Moulay Ismaïl University will take measures to open a dialogue with the union office and contain the tensions.
Meknès.. Escalade syndicale à l’approche de la rentrée universitaire et boycott total à l’École normale supérieure
Meknès – Le bureau local du Syndicat national de l’enseignement supérieur à l’École normale supérieure de Meknès a intensifié ses actions de protestation en annonçant un boycott total des différentes opérations liées à la rentrée universitaire, en réaction à ce qu’il considère comme l’absence d’une réponse sérieuse et responsable à la plateforme revendicative des enseignants de l’établissement.
Cette décision intervient à l’issue d’une réunion d’urgence tenue par le bureau local lundi 31 août 2026, consacrée à l’évaluation des derniers développements du dossier revendicatif et au bilan des démarches déjà entreprises par le syndicat, notamment la publication d’un communiqué d’avertissement et l’envoi d’une correspondance au président de l’Université Moulay-Ismaïl.
Selon le contenu du communiqué publié par le bureau local, ces démarches n’ont pas abouti, selon l’évaluation du syndicat, à une réponse aux revendications précédemment formulées. Le bureau a ainsi estimé que la manière dont le dossier est traité traduit ce qu’il a qualifié de « ciblage manifeste des revendications de Mesdames et Messieurs les enseignants ».
Le boycott annoncé par le syndicat concerne les concours de la Licence en éducation, les concours des cycles de master et de doctorat, ainsi que les réunions des départements et des filières, l’élaboration des emplois du temps et leur mise en œuvre, alors que l’établissement se prépare à accueillir la nouvelle année universitaire.
Le bureau local a considéré que l’élargissement du boycott intervient après l’épuisement de plusieurs démarches qu’il avait précédemment entreprises, faisant porter à la direction de l’École normale supérieure et à la présidence de l’université la responsabilité de toute éventuelle évolution de la situation. Il a également affirmé avoir auparavant fait preuve, selon ses propres termes, de « bonne foi, de responsabilité et de flexibilité » au cours des différentes étapes du traitement du dossier revendicatif.
À la conclusion de son communiqué, le bureau local a appelé les enseignantes et les enseignants à resserrer les rangs au sein du cadre syndical et à participer aux différentes formes de protestation annoncées, affirmant qu’elles visent à défendre les revendications et les droits qu’il considère comme légitimes.
La décision de boycott place ainsi la prochaine rentrée universitaire à l’École normale supérieure de Meknès face à un nouveau développement, compte tenu de son impact sur plusieurs opérations liées à l’organisation de l’année universitaire. L’attention se porte désormais sur les prochaines actions et sur la question de savoir si la direction de l’établissement et la présidence de l’Université Moulay-Ismaïl prendront des mesures pour ouvrir un dialogue avec le bureau syndical et contenir les tensions.
