As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance security and combat crime, the Fes Security Department is carrying out a wide-reaching campaign targeting motorcycles of all types under the slogan “Zero Motorcycle Muggings.” This campaign involves various security zones and police districts across the city and aims to cut off the sources of crimes where motorcycles are used to commit thefts and assaults (muggings).
Security checkpoints and control points have been set up throughout the main streets and intersections of Fes, where security forces stop motorcycle riders to verify their identification documents and ownership papers, as well as ensure that the motorcycles meet legal standards.
These continuous operations, conducted under strict instructions from the Fes Security Wali, have resulted in the seizure of dozens of motorcycles violating the law—either due to lack of proper documentation, absence of license plates, or illegal modifications. Several suspects involved in various criminal cases, who used these motorcycles to facilitate their activities, have also been detained. This campaign responds to citizens’ complaints and reinforces the sense of security against crimes committed using motorcycles.
