Rabat, Morocco – The National Railways Office (ONCF) has announced that the early morning train service linking the cities of Taza and Fes will resume starting in mid-September 2025. This decision comes in response to pressing demands from local residents, aiming to facilitate their daily commutes.
According to the official announcement, the train will depart from Taza station at 6:20 a.m. and is expected to arrive in Fes approximately two hours and fifteen minutes later.
Mixed Reactions of Welcome and Reservation
The decision has been widely welcomed by frequent train users, particularly students and employees, who will now be able to reach their workplaces and schools early in the morning. This new service is considered a positive step towards strengthening the railway link between the two cities.
However, the journey’s duration—two hours and fifteen minutes to cover a distance of approximately 120 kilometers—has raised some concerns. Some passengers believe this travel time is relatively long for the distance, which could be attributed to factors such as multiple stops or the general condition of the railway line.
The New Schedule
| Departure Station | Departure Time | Estimated Arrival Time | Approximate Duration |
| Taza | 6:20 a.m. | 8:35 a.m. | 2 hours and 15 minutes |
The ONCF also provides other daily trips, and passengers are advised to check the updated schedules on the official ONCF website or booking applications, as some changes may occur.
