Taza – The Sebou Water Basin Agency is set to strengthen the flood protection system in the city of Taza by allocating a financial envelope of nearly MAD 27.6 million to carry out a series of works aimed at reinforcing water infrastructure and protecting areas exposed to flood risks.
In this context, the Agency, in its capacity as the project owner, has launched a call for tenders to carry out the planned works, as part of the implementation of a partnership agreement bringing together several parties around the Taza flood protection programme.
A key component of the project focuses on the development of the Jaouna River through the construction of reinforced-concrete protection structures, in addition to strengthening and rehabilitating existing structures, with the aim of increasing their capacity to cope with water flows and improving the level of protection associated with the watercourse.
The planned works also cover the Taza River, through the development and protection of its banks in an area classified among the priority zones, located near the Maimouna district, as part of interventions aimed at protecting urban areas exposed to flooding.
The contract includes the various technical operations required to carry out the project, starting with topographical surveying, followed by the temporary diversion of the watercourse, and extending to excavation and backfilling works, foundation preparation and the construction of reinforced-concrete structures.
The operation also includes the installation of water drainage systems and their connection to existing hydraulic structures, ensuring that the new facilities are integrated with the existing infrastructure and improving the performance of the city’s water drainage system.
These interventions are expected to contribute to strengthening the water infrastructure dedicated to protecting flood-prone areas in the city of Taza, while also improving the level of protection of the watercourses concerned and increasing the effectiveness of existing structures.
The programme is not limited to works related to the Jaouna River and the Taza River. The project forms part of a broader programme involving several parties and is expected to include additional interventions concerning the Dfali River, further strengthening the city of Taza’s flood protection system.
The programme comes as part of the continued implementation of water projects aimed at reducing flood risks and strengthening preventive infrastructure through interventions combining the development of watercourses, the rehabilitation of existing structures and the construction of new protection facilities.
Taza.. 27,6 millions de dirhams pour renforcer la protection de la ville contre les inondations et aménager les oueds et cours d’eau
Taza – L’Agence du bassin hydraulique du Sebou s’apprête à renforcer le dispositif de protection de la ville de Taza contre les inondations, à travers la mobilisation d’une enveloppe financière avoisinant 27,6 millions de dirhams pour réaliser une série de travaux visant à consolider les infrastructures hydrauliques et à protéger les zones exposées au risque d’inondation.
Dans ce cadre, l’Agence, en sa qualité de maître d’ouvrage, a lancé un appel d’offres pour la réalisation des travaux prévus, dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre d’une convention de partenariat réunissant plusieurs parties autour du programme de protection de la ville de Taza contre les inondations.
Le projet porte, dans un volet essentiel, sur l’aménagement de l’oued Jaouna à travers la réalisation d’ouvrages de protection en béton armé, ainsi que sur le renforcement et la réhabilitation des ouvrages existants, afin d’accroître leur capacité à faire face aux écoulements d’eau et d’améliorer le niveau de protection lié au cours d’eau.
Les travaux programmés concernent également l’oued Taza, à travers l’aménagement et la protection de ses berges dans une zone classée parmi les priorités, située à proximité du quartier Maimouna, dans le cadre des interventions destinées à protéger les zones urbaines exposées aux inondations.
Le marché comprend les différentes opérations techniques nécessaires à la réalisation du projet, à commencer par les travaux de relevé topographique, en passant par le détournement temporaire du cours d’eau, jusqu’aux travaux d’excavation et de remblai, de préparation des fondations et de réalisation des ouvrages en béton armé.
L’opération comprend également la mise en place de systèmes d’évacuation des eaux et leur raccordement aux ouvrages hydrauliques existants, afin d’assurer la cohérence des nouveaux équipements avec les infrastructures en place et de renforcer les performances du système d’évacuation des eaux dans la ville.
Ces interventions devraient contribuer au renforcement des infrastructures hydrauliques destinées à protéger les zones exposées aux inondations dans la ville de Taza, ainsi qu’à améliorer le niveau de protection des cours d’eau concernés et à accroître l’efficacité des ouvrages existants.
Le programme ne se limite pas aux travaux liés à l’oued Jaouna et à l’oued Taza. Le projet s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un programme plus large auquel participent plusieurs parties, et devrait également comprendre d’autres interventions concernant l’oued Dfali, ce qui permettra de renforcer davantage le dispositif de protection contre les inondations au niveau de la ville de Taza.
Ce programme intervient dans le cadre de la poursuite de la mise en œuvre de projets hydrauliques visant à réduire les risques d’inondation et à renforcer les infrastructures préventives, à travers des interventions combinant l’aménagement des cours d’eau, la réhabilitation des ouvrages existants et la réalisation de nouveaux équipements de protection.
