Fez, July 16, 2025 – The Executive Office of Maghreb Al-Riyadi Fassi (MAS), represented by Mr. Khalid Benouhoud (First Vice President of the club) and Mr. Mohamed Al-Mutawakil (General Secretary), issued a clarification statement today announcing their intention to resign at the upcoming general assembly. This decision comes after a sports season described as financially heavy and full of significant constraints and challenges.
The statement emphasized that the work within the executive office aimed to achieve the desired results to secure the team’s safety with a spirit of responsibility and selflessness. Efforts focused on forming a strong and cohesive team and establishing communication bridges with the club’s members to meet the broad expectations of the fans.
The statement stressed that the team still urgently needs more solidarity and cohesion from its loyal supporters, noting that the financial crisis has not yet been overcome. The current circumstances require everyone to act with responsibility, objectivity, and selflessness.
Immediate Priorities for the Team:
The statement outlined three top priorities for the team at this time:
- Accelerate the presidential transition to the new investors’ project led by Mr. Mohamed Bouzoubaa.
- Announce the convening of the club’s general assembly before the deadline set by the professional league to avoid sanctions.
- Open membership enrollment to new members to strengthen the fan base and financial resources.
The executive office clarified that the highest priority is to secure financial liquidity to pay the final rulings resulting from international and national dispute files, ensuring the registration of new players. The office affirmed that the team’s interest requires rallying around the investors’ project to expedite solving these issues as soon as possible and to guarantee the team’s continuity and stability in upcoming seasons.
In conclusion, Mr. Benouhoud and Mr. Al-Mutawakil stated that their decision to resign stems from their belief that reconciliation is impossible after several attempts to bridge differences and bring viewpoints closer. The statement expressed hope that the upcoming general assembly will be held early this month, as agreed upon in the “Consensus and Hope Meeting” held in mid-June.
