Beni Mellal – The psychiatric hospital affiliated with the Regional Hospital Center in Beni Mellal was rocked by a horrific murder early Tuesday morning, when a patient suffering from mental disorders fatally attacked another patient by slitting his throat inside the room they shared.
According to press sources, the assailant used a sharp object to deliver a severe blow to the victim’s neck, causing a deep wound. The victim was rushed in critical condition to a specialized hospital in Casablanca but succumbed to his injuries en route.
The incident has caused shock and outrage among the medical and nursing staff, especially since the crime occurred within a facility that is supposed to be secure and under constant supervision, raising serious questions about the safety measures and vigilance within the psychiatric ward.
