These conditions have sparked widespread criticism among civil society actors, who have called on local authorities and elected councils to urgently intervene to upgrade these markets by providing infrastructure that ensures favorable conditions for traders and shoppers alike.
Local activists are demanding the creation of improved paths within the markets to facilitate the movement of citizens, with proper drainage of rainwater, to avoid the annual recurrence of difficulties that hinder commercial activity in these vital spaces.
