Meknes: Awareness Sessions at Dar Al-Quran Bab Ar-Raha to Prevent Measles “Bouhmroun”

As part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in collaboration with various partners, to curb the spread of the measles virus “Bouhmroun,” the Regional Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Meknes, in coordination with the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and local authorities, organized an awareness session on the disease. This session took place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Dar Al-Quran Bab Ar-Raha in Meknes, targeting young children in particular.

The awareness session focused on introducing children to measles “Bouhmroun,” its complications, and prevention methods, emphasizing the importance of vaccination as a key preventive measure. The information was presented in a simple and accessible manner, making it easier for children to understand and engage positively.

The session saw significant interaction from the children, who expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which provided them with an opportunity to better understand the disease and ask questions about it. The event also served as an occasion to educate children about the importance of maintaining their health and following necessary preventive measures.

This activity is part of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection’s strategy to enhance health awareness in the Fez-Meknes region, particularly regarding infectious diseases such as measles. The organizing authorities emphasize the importance of such initiatives in promoting health education among young people and reducing the spread of diseases through awareness and immunization.
