Fes News has obtained information about an important meeting held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the headquarters of the Province of Taounate, dedicated to evaluating the progress of local development projects in the traditional crafts sector.
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary-General of the Taounate Province and was attended by key officials, including the Regional Director of Traditional Crafts in Taza, heads of provincial departments, representatives from the Northern Provinces Development Agency, local municipal presidents, and representatives of beneficiary cooperatives.
Also present were Jouad Ben Taher, the sixth vice president of the Chamber, and Belkacem El Bekkari, a consulting member and expert in the Chamber, who contributed to discussions on project implementation progress and modifications to pending projects, particularly concerning financial commitments of stakeholders.
According to a well-informed source, the total construction and equipment cost has risen to 11.11 million dirhams, with 4.58 million dirhams funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Traditional Crafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This program aims to strengthen infrastructure for traditional crafts in the region, support artisans and local cooperatives, and contribute to a comprehensive development vision that addresses the sector’s needs.
