Fès – Le Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS) a retrouvé les sommets du football marocain en remportant le titre de la Botola Pro Inwi pour la saison 2025-2026. Le club a assuré la première place au terme de la 30ᵉ et dernière journée du championnat, mettant fin à 41 années d’attente et offrant aux supporters de la capitale spirituelle un sacre attendu depuis son dernier titre dans les années 1980.
Selon les informations disponibles, le MAS a remporté le championnat au terme d’une saison marquée par une concurrence intense jusqu’aux dernières journées. Face à plusieurs prétendants au titre, le club fassi a su préserver sa stabilité technique et maintenir des résultats réguliers, grâce à l’équilibre entre sa défense et son attaque ainsi qu’à sa gestion efficace des rencontres décisives.
La cérémonie officielle de remise du trophée est prévue mardi soir au Complexe sportif de Fès, en présence des responsables de la Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, de la Ligue Nationale de Football Professionnel, des dirigeants du club, du staff technique, des joueurs ainsi que des supporters.
Dans sa première réaction, le président du club, Mohamed Bouzoubaa, a salué un succès collectif fruit des efforts des joueurs, du staff technique, des dirigeants et de l’ensemble des composantes du club. Il a également rendu hommage au soutien constant des supporters tout au long de la saison, exprimant le souhait que ce titre marque le début d’une nouvelle période de stabilité et de réussite.
De son côté, Omar Bennis, président de la société sportive du club, a expliqué que ce sacre récompense un projet sportif mené durant près de 18 mois. Il a souligné que l’équipe est restée concentrée malgré une lutte acharnée pour le titre, rappelant que cinq clubs étaient en lice, dont quatre sont restés en course jusqu’à la dernière journée.
Il a ajouté que cette victoire ne constitue pas l’aboutissement du projet, mais plutôt le point de départ d’une nouvelle ambition visant à renforcer la place du MAS sur les scènes nationale et continentale grâce à une stratégie fondée sur la stabilité et une vision à long terme.
L’entraîneur espagnol Pablo Franco a, quant à lui, attribué ce succès à la discipline et à l’esprit collectif de son groupe, soulignant que les joueurs ont su gérer la pression liée à la conquête d’un titre qui échappait au club depuis plus de quatre décennies.
Franco a également rappelé que peu d’observateurs plaçaient le MAS parmi les favoris en début de saison, notamment après les années difficiles traversées par le club. Il estime toutefois que le travail continu, la confiance accordée au staff technique par la direction ainsi que la stabilité administrative ont permis de transformer le parcours de l’équipe.
Sur le plan individuel, l’attaquant Soufiane Benjdida s’est illustré en terminant meilleur buteur du championnat avec 20 réalisations. Il a néanmoins affirmé que le titre collectif demeure bien plus important que toute distinction personnelle.
Selon plusieurs observateurs du football marocain, ce sacre dépasse la simple reconquête du championnat après une longue absence : il symbolise la réussite d’un projet sportif et administratif ayant permis au Maghreb de Fès de retrouver sa place parmi les grandes équipes du football national et d’envisager avec ambition les compétitions nationales et africaines des prochaines saisons.

The club secured first place at the end of the league’s 30th and final round, ending a 41-year wait and bringing the championship back to the spiritual capital for the first time since the 1980s.
According to available information, MAS claimed the title following a season marked by fierce competition that lasted until the closing rounds. Despite facing several title contenders, the Fès-based club maintained remarkable consistency through tactical stability, balanced defensive and attacking performances, and effective management of decisive matches.
The official trophy presentation is scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening at the Fès Sports Complex, in the presence of officials from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the National Professional Football League, club executives, the coaching staff, players, and thousands of supporters.
Club president Mohamed Bouzoubaa described the achievement as the result of a collective effort involving the players, coaching staff, management, and all members of the club. He also praised the unwavering support of the fans throughout the season and expressed hope that the championship would mark the beginning of a new era of stability and continued success.
Meanwhile, Omar Bennis, chairman of the club’s sports company, said the title was the outcome of an 18-month sporting project. He noted that the team remained focused despite an intense title race, pointing out that five clubs competed for the championship during the season, with four remaining in contention until the final round.
He stressed that winning the league is not the conclusion of the project but rather the foundation for strengthening MAS’s position both domestically and on the continental stage through long-term planning and organizational stability.
Spanish head coach Pablo Franco attributed the success to the team’s discipline and strong collective spirit, emphasizing that the players handled the pressure of chasing a championship that had eluded the club for more than four decades.
Franco also noted that many analysts did not consider MAS among the favorites at the beginning of the season due to the club’s difficult recent years. However, he said that consistent work, the confidence shown by the club’s leadership in the coaching staff, and administrative stability ultimately transformed the team’s fortunes.
On the individual level, striker Soufiane Benjdida finished the season as the league’s top scorer with 20 goals, although he emphasized that winning the championship as a team was far more important than any personal accolade.
Football observers believe that MAS’s triumph represents more than simply reclaiming the Moroccan league title after a lengthy absence.
