Rabat – The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that the sighting of the crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH will take place on Wednesday evening, 29 Shaaban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 18, 2026, in order to determine the first day of the blessed month in the Kingdom.
Rabat – Le ministère des Habous et des Affaires islamiques a annoncé que l’observation du croissant lunaire marquant le début du mois sacré de Ramadan pour l’année 1447 H aura lieu le mercredi soir 29 Chaâbane 1447 H, correspondant au 18 février 2026, afin de déterminer le premier jour du mois béni au Royaume.
The Ministry stated in an official press release that the moon sighting process will be conducted across various regions of the Kingdom, in accordance with the annually adopted procedure. Correspondence has been sent to judges and regional delegates of Islamic Affairs to report the results of the observation, whether the crescent is sighted or not, through the official communication channels provided for this purpose.
Dans un communiqué officiel, le ministère a précisé que l’opération d’observation sera menée dans les différentes régions du Royaume, conformément à la procédure adoptée chaque année. Des correspondances ont été adressées aux juges et aux délégués des Affaires islamiques afin de transmettre les résultats de l’observation, que le croissant soit aperçu ou non, via les canaux officiels prévus à cet effet.
The same source confirmed that the official announcement of the first day of Ramadan will be made after compiling the data received from the different regions and verifying the legal confirmation of the crescent sighting, in line with the established procedures.
