Local civil society actors have voiced concern over the condition of the road leading to the school in Ouled Kroun Douar, part of Klalz Commune in Taounate Province, after it turned into mud and water puddles following recent rainfall—raising serious safety concerns for students during their daily commute.
According to local accounts, this track is the only route used by children to reach the educational institution, including pupils of a very young age, which significantly heightens potential risks, especially due to slipping hazards and difficult passage. The same sources report incidents of stumbling and falls while crossing the muddy road, before the children continue their journey to school.
Local stakeholders believe that the persistence of the current situation places an additional burden on families and exposes children to daily dangers. They stress that upgrading school access roads is a fundamental component of guaranteeing the right to safe education in rural areas, particularly during rainy periods.
In this context, local actors have called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to repair and rehabilitate the road, ensuring minimum safety and accessibility standards, in order to prevent recurring risks and safeguard regular school attendance.
