The Police Chief of Fes has announced the adoption of a special preventive security plan for the New Year celebrations, based on reinforcing intensive field deployment across various neighborhoods and key routes of the city. The plan aims to ensure public security, protect people and property, and secure a festive atmosphere in full respect of the law.
In a statement to Fes News, the security official explained that the plan relies on an organized and balanced deployment of the different security units, with reinforced foot and mobile patrols, intensified monitoring around public spaces and areas that typically attract large crowds during this period, as well as the securing of main traffic axes and city entrances.
He added that the adopted approach is grounded in preparedness and anticipation, through close coordination among the various security services and the use of monitoring and vigilance tools to ensure rapid and effective intervention when necessary. This contributes to maintaining public order and preventing any behavior that could compromise citizens’ safety.
The Police Chief of Fes noted that these measures fall within routine security operations aimed at providing a sense of safety and reassurance for residents and visitors alike, stressing the commitment of security services to ensuring that this period passes under normal conditions while respecting citizens’ rights and freedoms.
This plan comes as part of the seasonal preparations adopted by the services of the General Directorate of National Security in various cities, where security deployment is adapted to the specificities of each city and the nature of activities associated with this occasion—thereby strengthening trust in the security institution and consolidating a community-oriented policing approach.
