During the ceremony, 12 recipients were awarded the National Order of Merit, Exceptional Class, while three others received the National Order of Merit, Second Class. This high Royal gesture reflects the special care His Majesty King Mohammed VI extends to human capital within the Moroccan university system.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, the University President, Mostafa Ijaali, expressed his pride in this distinction, which honored staff members from diverse disciplines and responsibilities. He noted that these decorations constitute recognition of the pivotal role played by university human resources and serve as a strong incentive to continue along the path of excellence and dedication.

He added that the ceremony represents a symbolic moment to acknowledge the contributions of successive generations of research professors and administrative and technical staff who have helped build the university’s reputation—whether through academic supervision, scientific research, or administrative management.

The University President emphasized that the Royal decoration is not merely a personal honor, but also a responsibility that calls on the recipients to uphold values of quality, integrity, and public service. He highlighted that this recognition aligns with the Royal vision that considers human capital the nation’s true wealth and a fundamental driver of development.

For his part, Professor Taleb Mostafa of the Faculty of Sciences Dhar El Mahraz, one of the honorees, expressed his pride and appreciation for this Royal gesture in a press statement, affirming that it provides additional motivation to intensify efforts in service of the Moroccan university.

Similarly, Abdelatif Ben Mohamed Safouane, Professor of Higher Education at the Higher School of Technology in Fes, expressed his happiness with this distinction, praising the special attention His Majesty the King gives to research professors and to the role of the university in scientific and societal development.
