In Implementation of the Royal Vision.. Minister of Health Inaugurates Ifrane Proximity Hospital and Launches 30 Health Centers in Fez-Meknes Region

Ifrane – December 1, 2025

In direct implementation of the High Directives and the forward-looking Royal Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, for a fundamental reform of the national health system and the generalization of comprehensive health coverage, Mr. Amine Tahraoui, Minister of Health and Social Protection, presided today, Monday, over the inauguration and launch of services at Ifrane Proximity Hospital, and remotely launched services at 30 new and upgraded urban and rural health centers across the Fez-Meknes region.

The Minister affirmed, in his opening speech, that these achievements come as a concrete embodiment of the High Royal Vision that has made health a top priority within the social state project, and a practical translation of the Royal commitment to bringing quality and equitable health services closer to all citizens, especially in rural and mountainous areas.

Ifrane Proximity Hospital… Tangible Embodiment of the Royal Vision in Health Infrastructure Development

  • Construction cost: 132 million dirhams
  • Area: over 2 hectares (7,000 m² covered)
  • Capacity: 30 beds
  • Population coverage: 50,000 inhabitants across 4 communities
  • Human resources: 52 qualified health professionals

The hospital includes modern departments encompassing emergency services, maternity ward, radiology, laboratory, specialized consultations in gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, general surgery, and medical rehabilitation, making it a model for proximity hospitals that His Majesty the King has ordered to be generalized throughout the national territory.

30 New Health Centers… Regional Extension of the Grand Royal Project

On the same occasion, and in implementation of the same Royal Vision, the Minister launched services at 30 health centers distributed across provinces and prefectures:

  • Meknes (9 centers)
  • Taounate (13 centers and dispensaries)
  • Sefrou (4 centers)
  • Moulay Yacoub (4 centers)

All are equipped with modern biomedical equipment, connected to an integrated information system, and staffed by competent health personnel, to provide primary care services, chronic disease monitoring, maternal and child health, and health awareness.

The Minister concluded by affirming that these projects are not merely health facilities, but rather a living embodiment of the High Royal Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in building a healthy and equitable Morocco that places citizen health at the core of public policies and makes access to quality healthcare an actual right for every Moroccan man and woman, wherever they may be.
