As part of the celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the glorious Green March, the Faculty of Sharia affiliated with Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez organized a distinguished academic lecture entitled: “A Peaceful Event in a Time of Wars: Sacrifices, Development and Continuity After Fifty Years,” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, corresponding to 13 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH, at 3:00 PM in the Dr. Youssef Amphitheater.
The organization of this lecture comes in commemoration of the Green March epic, which is considered one of the most prominent milestones in the history of the national struggle to complete the territorial unity of the Kingdom, and an opportunity to recall the meanings of sacrifice and national unity embodied by this unique historical event.
The lecture was presented by His Eminence Dr. Mohammed Zine El Abidine El Hassani, a graduate of Mohammed V University and a visiting professor at several universities inside and outside Morocco. He has participated in international scientific conferences and has authored works in the fields of medicine, astronomy, water management, and robotics, in addition to his intellectual interests related to Moroccan civilization.
This lecture opened a scientific and cultural discussion about the dimensions of the Green March as an exceptional peaceful event in a time of wars, and the tremendous sacrifices that accompanied it, which contributed to building a Morocco of unity and development, while highlighting the continuity of this event in the national consciousness after half a century since its launch.
