On the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the victorious Green March, the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez is organizing a scientific symposium entitled: “The Moroccan Sahara: Half a Century’s Journey for a Just Cause,” on November 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the University’s Conference and Training Center near Hassan II Hospital in Fez.
The opening session will be chaired by:
- President of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fez, Dr. Mustapha Ijaalali,
- Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Fez, Dr. Mohamed Bouzalafa.
The scientific session, which begins at 10:30 AM, will be chaired by Dr. Mohamed Bouzalafa, and will feature a series of academic presentations shedding light on various political, historical, and legal dimensions of the Moroccan Sahara issue.
Main Scientific Presentations:
This symposium aims to highlight the historical and political trajectory of the Moroccan Sahara issue and recall the national significance of the Green March as a unifying event embodying the cohesion of the Throne and the people in defense of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity.
The occasion also represents an opportunity to renew affirmation of national and international consensus on the Moroccanness of the Sahara, and to present scientific approaches highlighting the importance of the ongoing development project in the Southern Provinces under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
