Following the publication of a “Fes News” report highlighting a public lighting outage in Street No. 37, Oued Fes neighborhood, the maintenance services of the Al Mariniyin District promptly intervened to repair the malfunction that had plunged the area into darkness.
Residents expressed their relief and appreciation for the quick response, while noting that such issues could have been avoided if the maintenance department had conducted regular preventive and inspection rounds to detect and fix technical problems before they worsen.
It is worth recalling that local elected officials bear a direct responsibility to respond to citizens’ complaints and requests, as this falls within their core duties and representative functions. Likewise, technical departments are expected to carry out routine monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure and essential services, ensuring the continuity of public lighting and improving living conditions in the neighborhood.
