Olives are now worth 7 dirhams in the Monday market, after 5 dirhams last week

Citizens and residents of the Fes-Meknes region are eagerly awaiting a decrease in olive oil prices after experiencing significant increases in previous seasons, thanks to an exceptional olive harvest this year.

At the Monday market in Al-Walja village, Taounate, the price of olives slightly increased to 7 dirhams per kilogram on Monday, October 13, 2025, compared to 5 dirhams last week. However, the market is expecting the new harvest from this exceptional season, fueling hopes of a near future drop in prices due to the abundance in olive production.

Residents hope that this good season will positively impact local olive oil prices, especially after the sharp rises in prior years, which have been a financial burden for Moroccan families in the Fes-Meknes region.
