Public Prosecutor in Fez Orders the Detention and Prosecution of Three Individuals on Charges Related to the OuRach Program

According to confidential sources, the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Fez has decided to prosecute three individuals under preventive detention at the local prison of Bourkaiz. The charges include forming a criminal gang, embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds, abuse of power, bribery, and extortion of financial dues from individuals.

These prosecutions come amid ongoing investigations into alleged extortion and manipulation connected to the OuRach program in the rural community of Qariya Aba Mohammed in Taounate Province. A detailed investigation of the accused is scheduled for an upcoming court session.

The sources revealed that the three suspects—who are the president of an association, its treasurer, and a member—imposed fees on beneficiaries to receive portions of the financial entitlements granted for services delivered under the program.

This decision reflects the judicial authorities’ commitment to combating financial and administrative corruption and upholding the rule of law with determination and rigor.
