Fez – Several residents and merchants in the Ain Chqaf Road area near the private university have complained about a blatant occupation of public space by a clothing store. The store has expanded its activities onto the entire sidewalk, covering neighboring shops and hiding them from view, obstructing customer access, and severely disrupting pedestrian movement.
Many affected residents and business owners told the newspaper that this behavior is causing significant harm to commercial activity in the area and restricting the freedom of movement for pedestrians. They are calling on local authorities to intervene urgently and immediately to end this injustice against pedestrians and to enable neighboring merchants to resume their activities without obstacles.
It is worth noting that the authorities in Fez previously launched a comprehensive campaign to liberate public space from occupiers in this area, but violations have returned to their previous levels. This situation requires enhanced monitoring and more serious measures to guarantee the rights of residents and merchants and to maintain public order in public spaces.
