Health Union Calls for Comprehensive Reform of the Taounate Regional Hospital Center

Taounate, Morocco – The Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), through its National Health Union and the Regional Office in Taounate, has submitted a comprehensive memorandum of demands to the Acting Director of the Regional Hospital Center. The memorandum outlines 18 urgent reform points aimed at improving the health and administrative conditions at the institution.

Administrative and Organizational Demands

The main demands include the need to activate the responsibilities of the Acting Director of the Taounate Regional Hospital Center in accordance with the internal hospital regulations. It also calls for the creation and structuring of consultation and support bodies as per Article 11 of the internal law.

The union also demanded the provision of medical equipment, medicines, and medical and laboratory supplies, as well as administrative and office equipment, to improve working conditions for staff and enhance the quality of services provided to patients.

Improving Health Services

Among the important points in the memorandum is the demand to expedite the payment of financial dues for health workers related to on-call duty, standby shifts, and compulsory work for the year 2024. It also calls for improving accommodation conditions and the quality of meals provided to patients and the on-call staff.

Necessary Structural Reforms

The document also demands enforcing respect for the responsibilities of the service provider in the management entrusted to them at the hospital and imposing a training system in accordance with the internal hospital regulations, while respecting the training period.

It also stresses the necessity of canceling temporary reassignments that do not serve the interest of the hospital and the need for consultation with relevant departments. Furthermore, it demands respect for the acting promotion status for those assigned acting duties.

Infrastructure Upgrades

Among the vital points raised is the repair of cracks in the hospital building to stop leaks that hinder the movement of staff and users, and the provision of official uniforms for employees at the Regional Hospital Center.

Technical and Administrative Demands

The memorandum also includes demands to provide all necessary service manifests at the Regional Hospital Center, repair lighting, faucets, and toilets, in addition to the need to focus on hospital cleanliness using quality cleaning materials, and to care for its surroundings.

Equipment Updates

Important technical demands include the urgent repair of the elevator, the provision of a service cooler to facilitate administrative tasks, and the installation of surveillance cameras in departments and corridors.

Organizing the Work Environment

The memorandum concludes by demanding the regulation of private vehicles, keeping some of them a necessity within the hospital premises, reflecting the union’s commitment to organizing the environment surrounding the health facility.

This memorandum comes within the framework of efforts to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens and to enhance the working conditions of the medical and administrative staff at the Taounate Regional Hospital Center.
