Local activists have issued urgent appeals via social media to the relevant authorities, calling for the immediate intervention of the competent services, primarily civil protection, alongside volunteers from the local community to help contain the fire before it causes greater damage.
Initial estimates indicate that the fire spread is exacerbated by the strong winds currently affecting the area, making containment efforts more difficult.
