On Tuesday evening, local authorities announced the execution of a demolition operation targeting a group of houses located near the Ait Sqato neighborhood, following eviction orders issued to the residents.
This action is part of the broader efforts to restructure the city’s infrastructure and free up public spaces in preparation for the major sporting events that Morocco will be hosting soon, including the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.
Authorities emphasized that these measures aim to improve urban facilities and provide organized and safe public areas, in line with the requirements for successfully hosting these nationally and internationally significant sporting events.
Coordination with all relevant parties was ensured to carry out the operation smoothly, while offering support and assistance to the affected residents, respecting the law and safeguarding everyone’s rights.
