As part of the ongoing strategy to open doors for young talents to assume security management responsibilities and to institutionalize rotation in leadership positions, the General Directorate of National Security announced today, Sunday, June 15, 2025, a new list of appointments in leadership roles within the decentralized services of the National Security across several Moroccan cities, including Fez, Ouezzane, Khénifra, Ksar El Kebir, Tetouan, Sidi Kacem, Agadir, and Nador.
The appointments, approved by the Director General of National Security, Abdelatif Hammouchi, include eight new leadership positions in public security and judicial police services. Among these are the appointments of three police district chiefs in the Ben Dbab Ain Kadous security zone in Fez, and the regional security zones of Ouezzane and Khénifra, as well as the head of the criminal investigation unit at the regional judicial police service in Nador.
The appointments also involved placing security officers in charge of decentralized services related to traffic management and road safety. This includes the appointment of chiefs for the traffic accident inspection units in the Tetouan security zone and the Sidi Kacem regional security zone, along with the head of the traffic and patrol unit at the regional police commission in Ksar El Kebir.
In line with efforts to strengthen the sports security system, a security officer was appointed head of the provincial sports security unit at the Agadir security district, as part of preparations for Morocco’s hosting of several major sporting events in the coming years.
These appointments are part of a continuous dynamic aimed at enhancing the efficiency and productivity of police human resources by enabling rotation in leadership positions and entrusting field management of police facilities to highly qualified and trained security professionals. These competencies are expected to effectively implement action plans aimed at improving citizen security and ensuring the safety of their property.
