Royal Moroccan Football Federation Announces Date for Electing New President of Fès-Meknès Regional League Following Disciplinary Actions

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has officially announced the opening of candidacy for the presidency of the Fès-Meknès Regional Football League, in preparation for electing a new executive board during the general assembly scheduled for Friday, May 30.

According to the federation’s official statement, candidacy files must include several mandatory documents, such as a signed and certified application letter, proof of experience in football-related activities, an official mandate, a criminal record certificate, and evidence of experience in football management.

This electoral process follows a series of disciplinary decisions issued by the FRMF Ethics Committee against several officials from the regional league, due to financial and administrative mismanagement.

Among the sanctions, Mohamed Jlili, President of the League, was suspended for three years from all football-related activities and fined 50,000 dirhams, after confirmed violations. Similar penalties were imposed on Driss Zouiit, Deputy Treasurer, who also received a three-year suspension and fine, for the same reasons.

These decisions come in the aftermath of the league’s failure to hold its general assembly, amid tensions and conflicts that disrupted the meeting held in the city of Meknès.
