Fez, May 18, 2025 – As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug and psychotropic substance trafficking networks, elements of the judicial police at the Fez security prefecture, in close coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully arrested a person on the evening of Sunday, May 18th. The individual is suspected of involvement in a case related to the possession and trafficking of a large quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The specific arrest operation took place at the Fez train station, where the suspect was apprehended immediately upon his arrival aboard a train from a city in the northern part of the Kingdom. A thorough search conducted by the security elements resulted in the discovery of a significant shipment of psychoactive substances in his possession, amounting to 1870 ecstasy pills. A sum of money found with the suspect was also seized, suspected to be proceeds from his criminal drug trafficking activity.
The suspect was immediately placed under judicial investigation procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecution. This stage of the investigation aims to uncover all potential extensions of this criminal activity, identify, and arrest any other potential participants and accomplices involved in committing these criminal acts that threaten the health and safety of society.
This successful security operation confirms the continuity and effectiveness of the joint field interventions carried out by the services of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). This falls within their strategy aimed at drying up the sources of trafficking psychoactive substances and various types of drugs that pose an imminent danger to public security and public health, particularly among youth.
